Getting Transcripts from ANNA UNIVERSITY!

Hi all,
When you have decided to pursue your Dream studies abroad then one of the things you need to arm yourself with is Transcripts  i.e. Official copies of your Semester marksheets and Provisional certificate (if you are issues one)  All this could be got by paying Just  Rs.500 per set to Our generous ANNA university :P! But not just that there are procedures for this and here i will be talking about that!

Lets :Do this!

First What are transcripts and why you need it?
Almost all the Foreign universities require you to send your Official Semester marksheets as part of the admission process! And you have just one copy of the originals which you do not wish to risk losing.
So Transcripts come to our rescue!.
Transcripts are the Official copies of your original semester mark statements and Provisional certificate. In other words you ll getting something like an extra set of Official  Marksheets!

How to get it?
The following steps will guide You!

STEP 1:
BEFORE you apply get the following things ready!
1.All Semester Mark Statements, Consolidated Mark Sheet and Provisional certificate.
2.Xerox Copies of 12th and 10th marksheet  and ID proof(eg.voter id ,driving license etc)
             3.One passport size Recent Photograph.
             4. One Cloth Cover Envelope also called as full scale envelope
             5. Photocopies of your Provisional Certificate (if you are applying for 2 sets of transcripts then take 2 photocopies of it)
              6. Bank DD in favour of  "CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS,ANNA UNIVERSITY,CHENNAI-25." payable at Chennai. Cost per set is Rs.500 The DD should be according to the no of  Sets of  transcripts you require! If you want to get 3 sets then get a DD for Rs.1500 and accordingly.
             7. College ID card and an ID Proof( eg.voter id, driving license etc)

STEP 2:
Place the Original Provisional Certificate,Consolidated Marksheet,DD,Passport size photo,Photocopies of your Provisional Certificate in the Cloth Cover.

STEP 3:
Go to the Transcript section in the   Controller of Examination Campus.

STEP 4:                                                                                                   At the Transcript Office ask for a Transcript application form. They will ask  you to show all the required Documents i.e.
  •    Provisional certificate original
  •    Original Consolidated Marksheet
  •    Photocopies of Provisional certificate(front and back)
  •    Photocopies of 12th and 10th marksheet
  •    College ID card and ID proof
  •    Bank DD
  •    1 passport size photo.
  •    Full scale envelope (also called cloth cover envelope)

STEP 5:
After they check your certificates and id proof they will give you a form. Fill the form. And note down the application no on the form .

STEP 6:
Then enter your details and application no in the register there.

STEP 7:
Now write your name,Register No,Application No  behind the passport size photograph and DD. Write the same on the front side of the envelope cover and also include your college name .Also include your contact number too.

STEP 8:
Now place the Original Provisional certificate,Original Consolidated marksheet,Required no of photocopies of Provisional Certificate(front and back), photocopies of 10th and 12th marksheet,Photocopy of id proof inside the envelope cover and submit them.

Voila!the procedure is over!. now you can get the transcripts after 7-10 days.make a call and enquire about your application  before going to collect them.

NOTES:

Dont forget to note down your application no for future reference.
Incase you need to take xerox there is a xerox shop inside the main university campus at the entrance to Soumya inn but it will be crowded and there is no internet.

If you want to get DD there is an Indian Bank in the DOTE campus and an Canara bank ATM near the Transcript section.

           Office timings:upto 4pm. 2pm to 2:30 lunch hour.

If you need to take printout from internet then you have to Cross the Sardar patel road towards MIT and walk along the road towards adyar for 10 minutes to see the first net center nearby.

Make sure you have all photocopies because it will be really frustrating to wander between campuses searching for Xerox shops or browsing centers.

And if you are a foodie Dont forget to try the AC tech canteen!:p

    1. Good to know about your master's at Canada. Congrats Vijay. I really appreciate your blog posts which would definitely be helpful for other aspiring and current students. I applied for transcripts online as Daniel CJ mentioned in his comment above using the same link.

It's quick but a bit costly. 900 for one transript + tax and shipping cost is Rs. 500 for Indian address. But it works though. (Only in Google Chrome browser)

  4. Through online, do you get a consolidated mark sheet or individual mark sheet

    ReplyDelete
  5. You get the same you get on the regular transcript request. Consolidated sheet (with records of individual semester pass and fail records) and a degree certficate in a Anna Univ cover.

  6. Universities in US require transcripts to be sent through the registrar of the previous institutions.
Does the transcripts applied through online come in a sealed envelope so they may be considered as the official transcripts?

  12. Submitted the documents along with DD on 11 July 2017 to get the sealed envelope for WES evaulation; so far the officials are delaying and have not provided a clear date on when the application will be processed, saying that the marksheet system is being changed. Any one else with the same problem??

  13. Do we need to provide Marklist for each semester or the consolidated marklist will work for Canada PR? If it requires semester wise marklist, whats the procedure to get the same?
    Thanks in advance..

    ReplyDelete
  14. Got the answer too.. We don't need to provide the semester wise Marklist for this. Without that also WES is processing assessments for Anna University. Need to provide Degree/ Provisional and Consolidated Marklist.

  15. Hi Everyone,
One more question. While trying to apply online for WES+Transcript, they are asking for College Transfer Certificate. I don't have such a certificate which I got from my college when I passed out. Can anyone please help me out? Even I tried to go ahead without that, but the site is not allowing as its a mandatory document.

    Thanks in advance....

  21. Fantastic post, very informative. I wonder why the other specialists of this sector do not notice this. You must continue your writing. I'm confident, you have a great readers' base already!https://www.bu.ac.th

  22. I found this website quite useful to get my transcripts: http://mailtranscripts.com
You only need to upload your Consolidated marksheet (Front & back), Degree (Front & back), Photo id proof (Front & back), 10 & 12th Marksheet, Photograph (600x600) that’s it all the process will be done by them only.
This helped me to save a LOT of time and energy since I had to go to their website only once and everything is online. Not to mention, I didn't have to beg favors from anyone nor make multiple trips to college or anything. Getting transcripts made fast and simple, just like that! takes care of everything.

    Hope this helps!
